Can I fly with Floatee products?

Airline regulations allow CO2 cylinders in checked and cabin luggage. However, we recommend that you check with your airline beforehand and consult our dedicated page.

Anti-drowning T-shirt (child)

How does the children's anti‑drowning‑shirt work?

The anti-drowning T-shirt is a safety equipment combining protection against UV rays and against drowning.

The anti-drowning system embedded in the T-shirt is automatically inflating in case of immersion in the water (child falling in the pool, river, etc.). The inflatable part inflates instantly and ensures the child is on his/her back, airways out of water, in less than 5 seconds.

Once inflated, it is possible to recharge without replacing the whole anti-drowning T-shirt (the inflatable part can be dissociated from and reassociated with the t-shirt).

Can I bath with the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt?

No, the anti‑drowning T‑shirt is not designed as bathing or swimming clothes but as a security equipment. It is to wear out of the water, it can be pulled off like a normal T‑shirt when the child is authorized to go into the water. It is not a swimming instruction aid (like armbands, swimming rings, etc.). You will find the comparison here.

What’s the difference with armbands, swimming vests, etc.?

Swimming instruction aids like armbands, rubber rings, swimming vests are not designed to protect the child when he/she is out of water. Those are aids to learn how to swim: they are used in the water during bathing and at a maximum distance of an adult's arm.

These aids are not certified to save the child from falling in the water and putting him/her on his/her back, airways out of water.

On the contrary to swimming instruction aids, the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt isn’t designed to be used in the water, nor is it made to teach your child to swim. It is a safety equipment specifically designed to save your child from drowning: it is certified to ensure putting your child on his/her back, airways out of water.

Does the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt inflate under the rain?

No, the anti‑drowning T‑shirt requires to be in immersion in the water to be triggered. It is not activating in case of limited spraying: rain, water pistol, splash or spilt liquid, etc.

Is the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt reusable after inflation?

Yes, the anti-drowning T-shirt has been designed to be easily reused after inflation but also when the child has grown:

  • the inflatable part is easily separable from the T-shirt to allow machine washing and access to the inflator
  • to recharge, all you need to do is unscrew the used gas and water detection capsules and screw in the new ones included in the recharge
  • when your child grows, you can keep the inflatable part, and we’ll buy the anti-UV T-shirt part back

Does the children's anti‑drowning t‑shirt hurt when inflating?

No, the inflation can be surprising but in no instance painful.

Can the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt be washed?

Yes, the T‑shirt part can be separated from the inflating life jacket part. You can machine wash the T‑shirt part alone at 30°C / 85°F.

For the first wash, we recommend running a short cycle with just the T‑shirt and an anti‑discolouration wipe.

Is the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt also anti‑UV?

Yes, the textile part is anti-UV UPF 50+. It corresponds to the highest protection certification against UV rays.

Which anti-drowning T-shirt's size should I choose for my child?

We recommend you base your decision on our size guide.

Is the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt accredited for nautical sports?

No, the children's anti‑drowning t‑shirt is not accredited for nautical sports. Although as efficient as an accredited lifejacket, it does not have all regulatory equipment for this purpose (reflective strips, whistle, etc.).

In contrast, the Floatee A100 lifejacket is specifically designed for water sports.

Does the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt activate in case of fall on the floor?

No, the anti‑drowning T‑shirt only activates when in immersion in the water.

Is it possible to inflate a children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt by mouth?

No. The children's anti‑drowning t‑shirt automatically inflates when in immersion in the water. You shall in no instance inflate it by mouth using the deflation valve. It could cause damage to the product.

Are there physical shops where I can find the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt?

Yes! In addition to our online shop (see e-shop), a network of distribution partners also proposes Floatee in their locations!

How can I put on the anti‑drowning T‑shirt to my child?

The anti‑drowning T‑shirt can be put on like a normal T‑shirt! However, for greater convenience (the T‑shirt being worn close to the body), we recommend to start putting on by the arms rather than by the head.

Can we wear a sweat on top of the children's anti‑drowning T‑shirt when it gets colder?

No, it may interfere with the normal operation of the anti‑drowning T‑shirt, as the life jacket part needs space to inflate. But it is possible to wear an additional layer under the anti‑drowning T‑shirt.

A100 life jacket

Can I swim with the Floatee A100 life jacket?

The Floatee A100 life jacket is not designed as a swimming aid but as a safety device. If a child goes into the water wearing the life jacket, the product will need to be recharged using a Floatee refill before it can be used again.

Does the Floatee A100 life jacket activate when it rains?

No, the Floatee A100 life jacket requires immersion in water to activate. It will not inflate in the event of sea spray, water play, rain or spilled water.

What size of life jacket should I choose for my child?

We recommend referring to our size guide (at the top of our product page).

If two sizes fit, we recommend choosing the larger of the two.

Can the Floatee A100 life jacket be reused after it has been triggered?

Yes, the Floatee A100 life jacket has been designed to be easily reused after deployment. All you need to do is replace the CO₂ cylinder and water detector specially designed for this life jacket (see product). To recharge, simply unscrew the used gas cylinder and water detector and screw in the new gas cylinder and water detector.

We can also take care of this for you via our recharging service.

In the event of a manual activation, remember to add the green clip (manual activation indicator).

Should the Floatee A100 life jacket be completely inflated by mouth only?

No. The Floatee A100 children’s life jacket inflates automatically upon immersion in water. Under no circumstances should you inflate it by mouth using the mouth inflator; this is only intended for emergency top‑up on an already inflated product. If you inflate it by mouth and then the automatic mechanism is triggered, this could damage the product.

How do I put the A100 life jacket on my child?

The A100 life jacket slips on just like a normal jacket!

Can you wear a windbreaker or coat over the life jacket when the weather is cooler?

No, this could prevent the life jacket from working properly, as the inflatable section needs room to inflate. You can, however, wear an extra layer underneath.

I have a recharge for an anti‑drowning T‑shirt. Can I use it on my A100 children’s life jacket?

No, under no circumstances should you use a recharge intended for another Floatee product on your Floatee A100 life jacket!

Each Floatee recharge is designed for a specific product. In fact, the recharge for the children’s life jacket has a trigger indicator, which is not included in the recharge for the children’s anti‑drowning T‑shirt.

Tips and Care

How do I take care of my children's anti-drowning T-shirt?

Keep the Floatee in a dry and temperate place (for example, your wardrobe with your other T-shirts).

You can machine wash the T-shirt part of the Floatee (that is in contact with the skin), making sure remove the inflatable life jacket part and inflator - see tutorial how to pull out and put back the life jacket.

Once a year (after 1st annual use), you need to inspect the Floatee – see tutorial.

We can also take care of it for you through our maintenance service, with the replacement of the T-shirt included in the price!

How do I deflate and recharge the children's anti-drowning T-shirt after inflation?

To deflate the T-shirt after inflation, you need to (like with armbands or swimming rings) open the deflating valve located on top of the inflatable life jacket and press on the life jacket.

To recharge the T-shirt after it’s been inflated, all you have to do is buy a recharge, unscrew the used gas and water detection capsules and screw in the new ones.

Your fabrics are Oeko‑Tex certified. What does this mean?

They are guaranteed free from harmful substances. The Oeko‑Tex Standard 100 label guarantees that they contain no allergenic dyes, azo dyes (responsible for cancer), PFAS, etc.

So they're guaranteed to be safe for your child's health and delicate skin.

Anti-UV T-shirt's second life – how do I get a gift card?

It’s very simple, you need to send us a request for an “anti-UV T-shirt second life”, and we will send you a return slip.

We will then email you a voucher, the value of which depends on the condition of the T-shirt.

I have a recharge for an adults' product. Can I use it on my children's product?

No, under no circumstances should you use a recharge for an adults' product on your children's T-shirt! The gas content is totally unsuitable for a child's product.

Could the gas cylinder explode if exposed to extreme heat or direct sunlight?

No, the gas cylinder cannot explode during normal use of the T‑shirt or life jacket.

  • Theoretically, the cylinder would need to reach a temperature of 65°C / 150°F before it starts to leak, which is well above normal operating conditions.
  • The sun’s rays are filtered by the UPF 50+ UV‑protective T‑shirt, so these rays do not heat up the cylinder.

Orders and Payments

How can I pay?

Visa, Mastercard, Bank card, E-bank card, Eurocard, American Express, PayPal.

If you want to use any other method of payment, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Can I pay in several times/installments?

Yes! You can pay in 3 instalments thanks to our partner Alma, we even take care of the fees!

However, it is not possible for the e-gift cards. This payment option is deactivated on the checkout page if there is an e-gift card in your cart.

How do I use my promo code?

Promo codes allow you to get a discount or other promotions when you place an order on our website. Here’s how to benefit from one:

1. Choose the products you want to order on our online store.

2. Continue to your cart. Click on “I have a promo code”, located to the right of your coordinates, under your order summary. A promo code can also be applied at the delivery and payment page.

3. Type in your promo code, then click on the arrow on the right or on your keyboard’s enter key. A confirmation message will automatically show up on your screen with your discount.

When will I be charged?

As soon as you have confirmed your order, we will initiate payment.

How do I cancel or change my order?

If your order is already packed, it isn’t possible to cancel or change it, you will have to return it.

Deliveries

What are the delivery times and prices?

A delivery time estimate is given when you order. It is given in working days and is the average time it takes for order processing and delivery.

For mainland France:
For orders 100€ or more, Colissimo postage to a “Point Relais” or at home is free.

For French Department Overseas and other countries:
The delivery fees depend on the country.

What countries do you deliver to?

Worldwide, with the exception of countries subject to export restrictions from France.

How can I track my order?

As soon as your order leaves our store, you will receive a shipping confirmation e-mail, with your tracking number.

Once the order is shipped, your tracking number will also appear in your customer area, in the "My orders" tab.

What do I need to watch out for during delivery?

When you receive your order:
1) Check your package in the presence of the delivery person.
2) Turn down the package if it is in a bad state/refurbished/wrapped in tape that isn’t ours/too light/opened during transport/ or if some articles are missing, etc.

Don’t hesitate to check the contents of your package in the presence of the delivery person or post office worker.

What should I do if my order is late?

Should your order have been delivered a while ago, but still nothing?

First of all, check the delivery address provided.

Then, if it is right, there are two possible scenarios:

- A mishap in production and we are late. In this case, we must have warned you by e-mail. Check your spam box too!

- You haven’t received any e-mail. In this case, contact our team, we will answer in less than 4 hours from Mondays to Saturdays, 9am to 6pm

Exchanges and Returns

How can I exchange a product/bad article received?

As soon as you receive your order, we suggest you check all received articles and report any hidden defect as soon as possible, by joining some photos of the article and its label.

You can return your order without particular constraint during a 14-day period after reception, except that the product shall be in the same state than at reception: original packaging, labels attached, article not worn or washed, etc.

If the article you return is not in the same state than at reception or if it was bought several months ago, we won’t be able to guarantee an exchange or a refund.

Nevertheless, we’ll keep listening to find a solution together!

What are the return conditions?

You have the possibility to return any article that doesn’t suit your needs when bought on our online shop, within a 14-day period after reception or in case of non-conformity. More information in our General Terms and Conditions.

Make sure that it follows these criteria:

The article is in its original condition, with labels attached.

It hasn’t been washed or worn (except to have been tried on).

We reserve the right to refuse any return that doesn’t respect these conditions.

If your article has been cleaned, is stained (makeup, deodorant, sweat marks, etc.) or has a strong smell (perfume, kitchen smells, etc.), it will be sent back to you.

If you bought your article through one of our distribution partner, the return is to be seen directly with this distribution partner.

How do I return my product?

What happens when the refund has been sent to an expired/cancelled bank card?

If the card you had used to order has expired or if you cancelled it, don’t worry.

Refunds are linked to your bank account.

Your bank will do what is needed so all payments and refunds are made on your bank account.
